FAB Bakery

FAB Bakery was established in 2017. The founder Shynara Bakisheva expanded in 2020 and took over the lease of a premises in Fenham, Newcastle upon Tyne. I already knew Shynara just from buying bread directly from her, but I soon learnt that she was opening a new business and she needed some help with her marketing strategy.

My background is food marketing, so I was more than happy to be involved. Because the bakery was opening in the midst of lockdown, we faced some tricky challenges. However, thoughtful marketing and comms meant that the bakery was opened safely and successfully. In the beginning, I managed Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. I also wrote copy for the website, ensured that the site was properly indexed on Google and set-up and established a weekly newsletter. I also assisted with the pre-ordering system using Selz and managed the data with Excel.

Following from the opening of the bakery, I continued (and still continue) to manage FAB Bakery’s social media, I write weekly newsletters and I update the daily sales figures and input invoices into Quick Books. I source and order packaging, I keep weekly KPIs, I do a regular competitor analysis and I design and order branded goods for the business.

I am business back-up for FAB Bakery. I am there to provide support for difficulties as they occur, from staff leaving to co-ordinating Christmas orders. I know the business extremely well and I care about it enormously.
